We honor the life of Tyianna Alexander, 28 years old, a black transwoman who was fatally shot in Chicago, Illinois on January 6, 2020.

As reported by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Tyianna’s death is the first reported violent death of a transgender or gender non-conforming person in 2021. 

Friends of Tyianna’s publicly spoke out about her stating Tyianna was a “beautiful light” and that she was “nothing but life, encouragement, motivation, and fun.”

May Tyianna rest in peace and may her death not be in vain.
We must stop trans violence and hate everywhere.
