On this blessed day, at this blessed table—both overflowing with an abundance of love and an abundance of nourishment. It’s here, we take a moment in time and offer our gratitude.

While so many across the world are struggling to catch a breath—we hold them in our hearts and minds, while also giving thanks for our good health. We sit here in unison breathing unfettered oxygen into our lungs, deeply and effortlessly.

While so many across the world are living outside without walls to protect them, whilst trying to find semblance of rest on hard ground—we hold them in our hearts and minds, while also giving thanks for the safety of our walls, the softness of our pillows, and the warmth of our blankets.

While so many wonder where they will find a meal tonight, of all nights—we hold them in our hearts and our minds, while also giving thanks for the bounty of food laid before us, lovingly prepared for our family.

And finally, while so many in the world are alone yearning for another to feel comforted and loved by—we hold them in our hearts and our minds, while giving thanks for our family—those sitting with us today, and those who are sitting with us afar. For we have been blessed with the most precious gift of family. Family who we can count on in times of strife. Family who do not judge us for who we are or how we show up. Family who do not threaten or devalue our worth. We are blessed with a family who celebrate our existence on this earth.

While 2020 has been an undeniably difficult year for all of us, may we always remember these blessings. May we always cherish these lives we have been gifted. 🦃
